Dave it's amtico stratica. Has expanded in 3 places. No sunlight shines on it. Has been stuck with ht. help

Any suggestions on whats happening. Anyone else had problems with Amtico Stratica. I believe its been discontinued now.

I thought Stratica had to be stuck with epoxy.
Thats what they told me when I did there course.
I had to do the course, before they would let me buy it, as they had major issues with installs.
Also had to be on high strength screed, or they said it would fail

Hi dave . Used to fit this quite a bit years ago. Notoriously temperamental the stuff is. But it must be stuck with epoxy. Thats the only down side to it. Its nice and flexible but epoxy is a must. Its the rubber backing to it. Glad its discontinued.

Right he's just text this to me.

The original version had to be stuck with epoxy but if you had a batch that was produced in the last 3 years it was ok to use ht. that was from amtico technical

That's amtico for you never admit the fact that the product was a disaster from the start. Over priced and dodgy. They had loads of trouble with the product. Yeah it was nice to fit /cut , but if all you get is complaints then what is the point to it. First they say use epoxy then they say you can use ht , when you never used to be able to. What a surprise they got rid of it. Loads of architects were attracted to it coz of price tag , it was on the specs for bank work etc.. Over prices sh&@ .

Some of it is up for auction and others are 14.99sqm/15.99sqm. He's selling knight tile at 13.99sqm. Gonna phone Karndean tomoz and complain. Not that they'll do anything about it.

Might sound silly but is the batch he used definitely from the last 3 years? internet sales can be a dodgy market as we all know, that material could of been in back of warehouse/container for 5 years before 'kensington flooring' bought it dirt cheap to sell on for all anyone knows.

    That's more likely the case.
If your mate has a batch number contact them and give them the number and they should tell you when it was produced.
