    Hi

What is causing the joins in the ply to show through the Karndean as shown in the pic below and how can this be fixed? The joints were feathered when they ply was put down.

no idea? They just brought the ply and fitted it and feathered the joins and then laid the Karndean the next day

trying to upload a pic but the forum is not allowing it?

I cant upload a pic to the thread?

    Yes same floor

Not sure where the ply was from or what its quality was like I had a Karndean approved installer to fit the flooring? What is the resolution to joins showing through, its only on one part of the floor

Could be a subfloor problem , bouncing floorboards working ply loose, poor quality ply, not feathered ply properly, ive even seen fiters use plasload nails/ staples to fix ply which is daft, any of these I suspect.

Could be using mixed ply from different suppliers that comes out slightly different in thickness

But that wont fix the issue why plywood lines are showing after a few months even after it was skim coated?

I think the problem is the subfloor has to much moisture in it at a guess.

Need to fix the subfloor moisture issue first i think ?

The house is about 60 years old, suspended floors with air bricks and good air circulation below. The floor that the ply was put onto was the original canadian maple flooring.

I can't see how there would be moisture in the floor as the ply join is only showing through in one part of the floor. Could it be that the 2 pieces of ply are too tight to each other and with expansion/contraction have moved slightly?
