They make money if they dont pay up, having a read through it id assume you enter into a contract with them so that if the letters dont work you move onto stage 2 which is loaded with fees, bit risky really having read that.
Id go round with a piece of the most stain carpet you ripped up and get big Gordon to hold it under his nose till he realises it's better to pay up :thumbs
No contract signed . And yea they might make there money onstage 2 but you don't have to go to stage 2. Basically they send a letter then the client sends you a response . I think Thomas Higgins say on the letter that you have make a payment within 7 days . If u don't receive the money then you can take it to stage 2.. But as I said I've always paid £2. And I've always had my money within 3 days.. No harm speaking to them or getting a info pack from them
Go online find Thomas Higgins online solicitors and register with them ....( free ) . They will send out a letter before action letter , all very proffesional and only costs £5 or £7 . They can then follow up for you after that with court proceedings etc at very reasonable rates.
You can easily legal action yourself. It isn't too expensive and it's pretty straight forward. First tghough I would suggest you write to your customer politely request payment and give them 7 days to respond or pay the debt. Inform them that failure to respond will result in legal action to recover the over due monies, interest & expenses. If they don't have a reason for with holding payment then your case is straight forward, if they do then you need to address or refute their case. Then most importantly, file the forms and be ready to present your case. See link below for details on how to start your proceedings, and good luck https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money/overview
Basically said that things had taken to long and if something wasn't done soon I would reluctantly have to use other ways to retrieve the money. I accepted a cheque for half just now and a post dated cheque for next month.
