Had a call from an existing customer requiring lotus international in her chalet in South Switzerland . Happily I gave a quotation and was gratefully accepted.! I always work local, meaning within 1 hour of my home, but the opportunity to work away at this distance is like a mini holiday for me! I am working 1800 metres up a mountain which reaches -1c this time of year at night. I am hoping the balls 300 screed will dry ok and the ps adhesive will cure! 70 m2 . Have to take up fully fitted carpet, screed , lay lvt. Got 4 days. So the mrs thinks! Lol! Will post pics if anyone's interested! Yodolay!
Mate nice one...Word of advice...Buy food n fuel in France before you go over the boarder because Switzerland is one expensive place!! Around £2 a litre on fuel! Look forward to the pics..
Fiver a pint isn't that bad when ya on ya own and don't have to buy the missus a bevy. Drink up and party
Going to stock up in France for beers! Found out its a banging night out and has a gentle men's bar discreetly tucked away! Will flyer drop while I'm there and hopefully get some more flooring works ! Lol
"gentle men's bar"...Is that a bar where gentle men go?...I wouldn't go in there mate  Good call on stocking up in France! We got slapped for 40 francs just to drive on the motorways in Swiz...Saying that, the French tolls are frigging dear aswell!! But you shouldn't hit many of them.. Parked just outside Uefa HQ for the night and had breakky overlooking lake geneva when we drove around that neck of the woods...That was about an hour before we found out how much everything cost and got the f**k out of there
I'm back from saas fee and your right the place is expensive. The French roads were a dream to drive on. Drove for 13 hours door to door and didn't hit one bit of traffic! The customer said one layer of carpet loose lay to uplift, was a lie! Upon arrival at 9 pm we took up foam backed carpet throughout of which had after 30 years turned to the lovely stinky yellow powder. Under this was a noise suppresent felt underlay stuck via a 2 mm notched trowel of which the adhesive was also working very well after all this time. 10 hours later with two of us swearing , we managed to uplift the lot. A great job I really enjoyed completing. Will post pics of the floors shortly. Had to use an electric buggy, driven by a taxi man to transport old carpet and bags of screed. Took us 10 mins to load up the cart and drive to the chalet at a cost of £50 per trip.
