Howdy, that looks I've a right ball breaker of a job! Did you freehand each step or did you make up a template? I'm quoting for a job just now that specifies 200mm stringer with cove to one side, aluminium edges to the other and double tread stair nosings. There's 32 bloody steps in the flats but then theres another 2 maybe 3 blocks after this one!!

Yes it was a one off , we cut the corner section all the same, and the Altro into nosing size, did the stringer and then T&R with nosing
This is a full cove, maybe 35mm radius , your one will probably be a mini cove, like a grano staircase, it's hard to do with standard gradus stringer, as it will tend to split on the point between the nosing and cove, you will probably find that the step will also have a mini cove at the junction between riser and tread, depending on the material being laid you might have a problem with the outside trims at this junction, without seeing it I would suggest either cutting out the small cove, or face the tread temporally raising it square with cove and infill with latex or lay 6/9mm ply with chamfer at ends on cove to make corners square .

Cheers for that. I'm waiting on confirmation from the architect, I'm hoping for a flush stringer!!

Hi, do you have any other photos of this staircase?

And is that sheet vinyl on the walls, if so how did you fix it and what thickness is it?
    • UVcure
Yes it's 2mm vinyl on the walls, are you looking at doing a job like this? It's hard work
We normally use contact adhesive, sometimes the spray and sometimes pressures sensitive and let it go dry,

      Hi,

Yes, my client wants vinyl on the wall and on the ceiling if possible.

What make of 2mm vinyl did you put on the walls?

Did you also manage to put the sheet on the ceiling on that job?

Any other pictures of the work?
    • UVcure
Added more pictures for you, contact me off forum for more details , we normally use the dove white in the polyclad Plus PU

This is not your work, Kimpton Flooring supplied and expertly installed the Vinyl on this staircase and well over 40,000 square metres to Walls, Floors and Ceilings when the BPL was being constructed during 1985 and 1986.

We constantly had over 20 skilled fitters on site and I personally installed and fitted these stairs - So how could you have possibly done the work?

For your information, The vinyl on the walls and ceilings was specially produced 2mm thick fire retardant Gerflor sheet with reduced fleck and with no surface coating.

See my profile album or visit our web page: http://www.kimptonflooring.co.uk/vinyl/vinyl.htm

What you are doing is pure Plagiarism and should not be expected from a senior member.

Please do NOT lie and steal praise for other peoples skilled workmanship - You will get found out!

An apology from you on this forum would not go amiss.

Steve this is our work and i have been working at BPL for over 15 years doing all the repairs, and replaced your original staircase that you did, do you think it would still be the same since 1985/86
your firm did a fantastic job originally and i have been repairing and renewing your works where walls have been taking down, and new areas are done. i have no reason to lie, you are correct in saying it was a special gerfloor product made for the job, as you know its no longer available and we have replaced some of it with polyclad, i only posted these other pictures because you asked about more pictures, none of your work had Altro cut into the nosing. and the flooring on the stairs in not Gerfloor its Marley Vylon colour dolphin, you can tell this by the high graining, also our vinyl is laid the opposite way to yours.
you know of my company outside this forum Steve and know that we have skilled labour to do this work,
If i had stolen your work i would apology and hang my head in shame. i will check the pictures that i have posted and see if any could be yours as we have only replaced one of the two staircases on the site in the sterile suit, and if i have posted one of yours then i will indeed apologise
