Hi Guys, I'm thinking of doing the Karndean fitters course in the new year mainly because of the brand and using it to get work. Do you think that it would make a difference or should I look at the Floorskills or FITA course. Thanks
Done Karndean & FloorSkills Both are very good but also very different & defiantly worth doing both if you can
Do you have experience in fitting lvt? As a course won't teach you everything and only basic things like scribing etc. It won't teach you subfloor prep , screeding , DPM etc.
Depends what you sell the most id say, if you shift alot of karndean then go for it like wise with amtico if you shift alot of that do their course as it will help being able to say that youve been on the manufacturers courses, however having done the amtico course as well as the floorskills lvt l2 id recommend the latter, you will pick up alot more from matt than you will from paul/neil at amtico, dont get me wrong I learnt stuff at amtico but I learnt more at floorskills, and matt can do things with lvt that they cant like bending borders for example.
I haven't got any experience in fitting lvt. I fit carpet, sheet vinyl and laminates and wanted to add another string to my bow. Obviously a course won't teach me everything that experience does but all in good time hopefully . I can get hold of polyflor lvts and lifestyle. Is really worth going for the karndean when I may be best going to floorskills? Good job I have time to make my mind up lmao
Its ok to be fair but to be honest your only doing it so you can tell joe public youve been on their course when you sell their gear, ive only done the basic yet by saying your amtico trained ive prob won about a dozen jobs just from that especially when you up against a fitter who has no qualifications.
