Will we still be able to talk to the Scots, do we/they need a passport, will we have to pay import/export duty...... Only in jest lads we' still tak ta yea..
It must be a weight on everybody's mind up there , personally I would like the scots to stay part of the union But I will never support Murry
There are just too many questions that no one is willing to give a definite answer on ie: currency/EU/defence. The problem is that Salmond is a good MP and very intelligent, but behind him are a bunch of numpties who I would not trust to cross the road and are very weak politically never mind intellectually
Ha! Mate we don't need a defence, we've got https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCqprbH7mrg FFS who else would boot the crap out of burning terrorists about to blow up an airport?
Most of these banks are in name only geographically, they are international (and thieving bastards so makes no difference)
The thing is everyone thinks that as soon as the result is in (if yes) every thing is going to happen overnight. It could take years to sort out, who owns what, who's paying for what and what with. As for the pound England doesn't own it, but Europe will probably insist on the euro if Scotland wants to remain in it. I have to laugh sometimes though, as over here in July a lot of Scots come over wrapped in the flag of Scotland all thinking their William Wallace (you will never take our freedom) real died in the wool Scots yet they side with unionists, confused or what.
Well it already costs more to deliver to Scotland and currently we charge the same as for England in effect subsidising Scottish deliveries , but I have already been told that the prices for Scotland with our courier will increase if Scotland becomes an independent nation. So if I were in Scotland I would expect to pay more for any goods in the future. The Supermarkets will change there prices for Scotland and it will become a fact that every business will have to charge the real cost of sending things North of the border. I Think it will be a sad day if Scotland leave. I love the country and the accents, which I have often struggled with over the phone. I hope you all make the right decision and it works out. Rugrat
I find this difficult to understand. Big companies say it cost more to do business because of delivery/transport cost so therefore they would have to charge more and at the moment the rest of the shops in the UK subsidise this. Well surely a store say central/inner London, what with property, rent, rates and London rate pay, not to mention congestion charges should out weigh the cost of sending a 40 ft lorry to Scotland. So does the rest of England subsidize that. I wonder would the heads of these company's be drinking buddies/school chums of any parliamentarians. If these company's said when coming up to a general election that if you were to vote Tory/labour/ukip/or whatever prices would have to rise there would be an uproar and rightly so because that means businesses are affecting the outcome of a vote.
The cost across the England & Wales price per parcel are the same, the moment it crosses into Scotland it increases by £1 the higher into Scotland the more it goes up with customers in North Aberdeenshire costing an extra £4 per parcel, once it becomes a Highland post code it increases again. At the present customers in Aberdeenshire get the FREE UK delivery if they order enough. I don't believe you are being told the true cost of independence and without the truth its a step into the unknown.
Rugrat I understand the individual parcel deliveries would cost more i'am in the same position living in northern Ireland and next day delivery isn't, even if I was to do a job in Londonderry (90 miles away) I would charge more because of travel, but the likes of john lewis and b&Q making statements like they did coming up to the vote is bound to have an effect. Scotland will still be attached to England, people will still be able to drive there, they will still do business with company's in England. I don't think that much will change and any change will be so gradual you'll hardly notice.
