Hi gents I'm having a problem with a new range of Tarkett vinyl
I work for CR and the product name has been changed so I wouldn't know the correct range name for it

The problem is occurring when laying the vinyl out in the room any fold or big bend in the vinyl is leaving permanent creases in it (Im always careful not to crease them when laying out ) , I always warm my vinyls up with a fan heater prior to fitting to soften them up making it an easier installation
But even this is not helping

So my question is , Has anybody else had this problem ?
or know of any way to get the creases out

    Thanks John

Only ever had that problem with the super shinny vinyls at first. Just need to be super careful not to crease. Cut as much waste as possible so your not wrestling with a large sheet or template it out first.
Don't know of any way to remove crease marks, sorry.

template it and be careful when laying it in, otherwise gently gently I guess.

    is it high gloss?

Only way to install is template, bit like you would with LINO etc. If not using template then you need to be very careful. Simply quicker to template.

so if you're working in someone's house and it's ****ing down with rain with no where to lay your template out? Please enlighten me as to where you would do this? If the kitchens roughly 4mx4m where would you lay the vinyl out to drop the template on?

99% of the time it's not possible though Matt, yes if you have a massive warehouse to do it in then yes! In a domestic situation there just isn't the room! I've tempkated many bathrooms then you take the template outside lay it onto ply with the wind blowing it off the ply lol

That wouldn't fit in my van so I'd get cuts of 2m scribe them in then cold weld the seam !!!!!!

Thanks for the replies gents , It looks to be the product to blame here then !
How much do you gents think would be the correct price to fit a 2mX2m bathroom in this type of product
    using the templating method ????

I wouldn't say the product is to blame (unless there is a production fault of course)

Different materials need to be treated in different ways & fitted with a method that best suits !
If you fold a sheet if lino & it cracks you can't blame the lino ? It's the nature of the product !

I know its a pain and not very cost effective but you could make your template then return to the store to cut it out. It has to be cheaper than having to replace it.
And no cr don't allow you to charge enough, as an ex cr fitter I know that

Working for a shop just to fit the vinyl should be around £45 - £50 and should take couple of hours including driving there

Simple answer is then to not sell the product or agree to install the product if you dont have a suitable area to template it. Simply sell a different product.

Id imagine most of the time if your not screeding the area prior to fitting you need to ply it, just use the ply template for the vinyl, if you have to screed it then do a quick template screed it and then next morning when loading up cut it out in their warehouse.
