The whole range have same engine but its down to the Output of the standard map on the Ecu so even if you got the 100 you can still get it map'd to same output as the 125 map'd. @ spacey - yes I agree, you get plenty for your money with what spec you get. Be careful of the heated seats though, they burn your ass! im going to retro fit the 240v socket in the rear thats all for charging batteries etc and use my 240 mixer if need be then wheel the itools station in. least then I can boil the kettle as well whilst my lad sets up for me.
You mightn't have to change the injectors and the rear diff gearing to get it up to the 155 they all have the same engine though, same engine as the older transit from 2010 onwards. But I'd only remap after the warranty runs out, I've had my 2.4 140 remapped to about 170 and it pulls its a 57 plate with nearly 200,000 tho
My good friend at ford assures me that the map is undetectable but did say it could be reset back to standard unintentionally due to the nature of some of their software updates. He tells me there still is a few updates in the pipeline but dont know when, something to do with the Sync and eco models. I know 2 guys who have the remap'd 125, one came out at 168bhp by celtic tuning and the other was touching nearly 180bhp by another commercial tuner. Im not after the bhp, im in need of more torque for when I have the heavier loads. ...saying that, it felt rapid today for some reason. What I love about these customs is how they feel and drive like a car. Best van ive had to date. Glad I didnt hold out for the Trafic, FuGlY
if you take it in and they plug it in to the ids machine your map will be lost if they put up dates on which they always do without you knowing, a couple of years ago they had a update out that weren't as good as the old one and people were losing power,if your going to map it have the map logged on your computer and restore it back to standard map just before you go in to ford just in case. dont trust a word ford say I had mine in for a pump and pilot learn and update and they messed it up.
I went for the Eco tune on my 2.4 140 lwb and it makes it more torquey a lot better for pulling just be carefully with the clutch My van were doing 32 to 34 mpg before the map and now does no less than 36 mpg but I've had 41 mpg on the motorway but average out at 38mpg that's with say half loaded up mine is the older engine so the new engine in the customs should do better. Out of £20 derv I get an extra 20 miles from what I did before the remap
How you all getting on with your customs just ordered mine a little worried about space now lol quality drive tho
