£70 a day is what a lot of fitters on the cards get. There not paying for tools, van, insurance

Really, is that all it is? You could earn more do many other things that are not skilled. I think that's a joke

None that I know, are on anything like that.
Most I know want at least £100 a day, clear of tax etc with van included. That`s what I was paying my guy`s too

Lol, the point is there isn't a going rate wether your self employed or employed. The fact is that alot of fitters are on that type of money. I know fitters on £70 a day and they are working high end domestic.

Which I'm very surprised about. I'm not saying it doesn't happen but it's a joke, in my opinion. Why train and get a trade then get paid peanuts.you may as well take any job.

For a lot of employed guys it's the security feeling. Don't need to chase the work. Paid holidays and sick pay

I think its because its easy when you have everything done for you. Turn up, fit what your told and go home. It's the comfort zone.
