Ive got one which I bought ex demo, with 2000 miles, on a 12 plate. Ive done close to 50k now, and its not missed a beat, and had nothing but oil, and filters (and 2 tyres). They return good mpg, and are comfortable, plus they are great value for money. So far, its been a great van, and drives well, even when freighted up. Thats my experience of them anyway. I got a e-mail for Tfl the other day, and come 2020 the congestion zone, is also likely to become an Ultra Low Emission Zone. Vans/cars/taxis etc will all have to be Euro6 compliant, or you will be facing another charge, on top of the congestion charge.
Got a 2nd hand one a year ago. Had 23k miles on th clock. Been absolutely fine and I like the drive style. Not a fan of the looks on transits and felt like I was in the window screen driving one. Vivaro is really comfy
Got an Ex AA van and it goes great. Just the right size for all the stuff we need for floor sanding... Bob www.floorfixer.co.uk
Cheers for he replies. I've currently got a vw transporter and an Astra van van. My dad has had vw's for years and always been solid but I didn't want to spend as much on this one and I've seen what seems a reasonable price for a lwb 2013 115 bhp sport. One of the guys we sub too also has one and it is comfortable, has been reliable, he's had a few issues but it is a 2004.
The Vivaro and trafic are one of the best vans on the road imo, very comfortable and providing you look after them they serve you well. Before I bought the custom I had my trafic for nearly 5yrs and never gave me any major issues. I had the 2.5 140 edition and it was faultless even when fully loaded.
Im on my second vivaro 2008 not even had it a year and has cost me £3500. Recon engine, all four injectors, clutch, some pipe thing. It was only in there garage two days ago as the bearing decided to go. Good vans when they work tho.
Same here mate. Vauxhall vivaro cdti sportive. 2009. Recon engine, 4 injectors, new clutch, new handbrake cable. Total cost nearly £6000 with the vat !!!!!
I think the injector problem is a common fault. The drain at the top of the bonnet clogs up, then the water spills down, and causes the injectors to seize.
I have questioned why a similar vw is 16-17k, the vauxhall is 12k. Get what you pay for right? This reviews are asking me thinking I should stick to what I know.
traffic vivaro and primastar are all made in the same factory arnt they? had a primastar and lovely to drive but gearbox did fall apart on me, by the time id got home it had 4th and reverse, fun times 30 miles from home, I didnt go for another went for a transit instead cant say im disappointed with my choice. Guys I sub to have 2 new trafics and they are pretty gutless to be fair, drives like a car though to be fair mpg is pretty good too.
Yep, all the same, but assembeled in different factorys. Vivaro is assembled in luton, and have a 100,000 mile warranty. I had two transporters, a 54 plate and an 08. Build quality on the 54 (2.5)was excellent, but had major problems with all the running gear. The 08 (1.9)had crap build quality but is still running well.
The vivaro is all Renault apart from the badge !!! The engines are Renault too. The 2.0 litre mr9 being the more problematic apparently !!!
