This is still listed as available, but we have never stocked it as the price would be around £45.00 per box and as most fitters dont want to pay £20 for gripper it just is a non starter.
i know it's expensive but ideal for flat weave runners, Roger Oates actually recommend it over short pin, no one seems to stock it shame as we do fit some flatweave and if it gives you a better finish customers will pay the extra, when the carpet costs £90odd lin mtr extra couple of quid wouldn't matter to them.
Yes I see your point at that level I can see your customers would be happy to pay.... I am sure to be ordering shortly give me a call and I will see if we can help...
sounds good, with allot of felt back carpet being so thin the gripper pins stick through, so I suppose this would eliminate that problem?
It is the same old story in our trade."Customers do not like to pay for something that they cannot see".
usually i'd agree but just booked a job in lifestyle's city twist full 3 bed house 2 reception rooms, not an expensive carpet but they chose lifestyle's ultimate u/lay for downstairs and the s/l, then the elite for 3 beds. Even when someone buys a high quality 80/20 it's difficult to make them buy a quality underlay, i usually try to get them to buy a combifelt but most of the time they re-use old underlay or use a cheap PU foam usually not up to cosi 8mm standards.
I carry underlay samples in the van and explain the differences of underlay to them, from density and thickness etc Works fine for me, and it's good to let them get their 'hands on' to gain a better understanding of what I'm telling them.
I use microplast all the time on Roger Oates and Vorwerk, would Never use anything else.just tell the customer they have to have it
They do a micro plast with tiny pins on aswell for stairs so it doesn't grab prematurely... Great stuff and also I use I front of doubles on felt back in bedrooms !!
I used to use it works great , but problem is if your fitting carpet with felt back your at the budget end of the market. Floorwise still list it £ 60.63 plus vat
Ahh never realised how expensive they were as the shop I often subby to has boxes upon boxes so they let me take a box whenever I need!
