I've always been a laegler man myself, tried all the others but alway come back to laegler. I had a unico for years but now have 2 flips on either van, they are small but a great bit of kit especially with laegler abrasives.

I tried the Bona ones and didn't like them and hear varied reports about them from people I know.

One thing I will say is the flip is easy to set up and repair yourself, customer service is good to.

Your welcome to try either of mine, my unico hasn't been out the garage since I bought them.

I've always used Bona Edgers myself, have tried the laegler edger once on a course i did, and although it was good, [it was brand new btw] and the floor we were Edging was pan flat, it was no better than the Bona Edgers [7"] that i use day in day out, i've done getting on for 2k floors now over the years and they [my Edgers] have always done whats been asked of them with the minimum of issues, as for repairs and maintenance, unless you are a complete numpty or imbecile, changing a worn belt is pretty easy, Starke abrasives seem to work best for me on my Bona Edgers in all honesty :)

Any problems with static i have heard reports of lots of static with Flips becase of the mainly plastic construction.I have an Elan which has a
great power to weight ratio but it is a dust maker .Any idea how Flip compares to the Elan. Also have a Randmeister which is the predecessor to the Unico this is a great finishing machine for new floors but i need a workhorse for old floors.
    Thanks again

Can't say I've ever noticed on the flip if I'm honest.

Your more than welcome to borrow one, also my unico is not been used at present so you keep that as long as you like, It's a great work horse but doesn't get used now that I have the flips.

Edited to add also the flip has the corner attachment, also can be used as a stand alone with the bag it's supplied with or also with (ideally a Festool Hoover) with another attachment which is about 40 of the queens finest.

Ended up with a couple of Flips after trying the Elan and Pallmann Gecco Star. Lagler products are all good though, and the Elan is far easier to use in confined spaces.
