Bit of a floor prep survey. Gripper is a pain in so many ways, BUT, which do you vote to be a the most annoying.... 1. Catching your fingers Again! 2. Hitting skirting boards Accidentally! 3. Fitted to tight against the wall by the last guy 4. All of them My answer 4
The way it's always fixing so well when your trying to remove it for a wood floor but all a Loose and crap when your fitting a new carpet?
Yeah old gripper almost always comes up. The worst is glue down in a large concrete room I just hate taking 45 mins to do a 10 main job. Also I use a nail driving bar so I can guarantee never to damage a skirting board
Where there's a chance of damaging skirting so awkward position of body to get to it or close to a possible hazard.
Might be a bit weird but I enjoy gripper ing really hate it when it's already down tho but nothing better than correct gripper ing
Lazy joiners when they fit new skirting heavier than the old one, the either don't lift the old carpet, so therefore lock it in place under the new skirting or the have it sitting on top of the spikes. Try removing that without damaging the skirting.
After yesterday, 5. trying to explain to the customer why the fitters new lad has just smashed the crap out of their skirting boards, didn't mention it to his boss, who therefore didn't have time to apply the liquid gold (tippex)
Where do i start, reuse old grips and find gap too tight/loose. previous fitter removing every other nail (why). small pieces with only one nail, aka one pin Pete. Plumbers that always refix it wrong way round. The £15 boxes of cheap rubbish.
