    Hi guys.

Looked at flat in London which has carpet in bedrooms but wood in the hall and lounge. They have tried to restrict the noise and spent a lot of money but the lady below says she can still hear some noise.

I have to lay carpet and underlay on top to avoid legal action but they do not want me to pin the gripper or stick On the wood floor as whenever the old lady goes or goes! they will take the carpet up again.

Ay ideas of fixing for the gripper which will hold the stretch.? I was thinking some sort of tape but I'd appreciate any thoughts.

Why don't you just staple the underlay and stick the carpet to the underlay

The staples will be in the wood floor. They do not want any damage/marks to the wood floor. It's a new floor.

I've had to do this before just used system 10 underlay, and fully stuck the carpet with F3 didn't have any problems with it, tape the joints so the glue doesn't go threw and the floor should be good as new when it comes up

Does the underlay not lift when you tuck the carpet if it's not stuck?

I was thinking the same. The underlay will be loose laid but the carpet stuck to it.

Leave a small gap to tuck carpet into

Cut the system 10 underlay to give the same gap as you would if grippering. Tape all joins and stick with F3. The system doesn't move at all. Done a few times with customers with ceramic or wood floors that they did not want to damage.
