Blimey, sounds like a lot of damage ! As you say, don`t think I have much choice. The muscle is already wasting on my leg, where i`m not using it. Pretty much limp everywhere, and i`m only 41. I have been told by someone else I should avoid the op too.
Yeah. It my own fault so just get on with it. Sounds like you don't have much choice, but would defiantly recommend a good rehab programme to strengthen the leg/knee. I did that, still play football and golf but know when to stop. That is the key.
Had my one done four years ago and had to pack up the tools Middle of 2014. Too painful to even prep tried the proknee pads as a last ditch attempt but these made my knees swell I feel your pain on a personal note I was 27 when I got this done and need more work done at 31 now so don't take your health too lightly and if they recommend it I would personally get it done
Had the operation yesterday, and not great news. The tear in the cartilage was apparently massive, and although this has now been shaved, it`s caused permanent damage. Recovery period was to be 2 weeks, now there saying 2 months, and possibly the knee is too damaged to return to flooring. The worst part is, I first went to my gp back in September, and she dismissed it, and said I just needed physio, which I tried. I then returned at the end of December, saw another gp, who immediately referred me. That 3 month period, may have had a big effect on that damage that has now occurred.
Mate so sorry to hear this ,chin up.Wait the two months then go from there.Try the Alpros i know you like your two layers of unders in your pads but the Alpros spread the weight to the top of the shin.Good luck. Tony
Sorry too hear it too pal. Hope things go well for you. Hopefully you will be back fitting. Fingers crossed.
Cheers, I bought a pair of the Alpros from Mario a few months back, and although they took some getting used to, i`m sure they kept me going. Will just have to wait and see what happens I spose.
The yanks have some great gear to make the job easier. Theres a wheelie skate type thing that saves the knees as well as some knee pads that seem way beyond anything we have,. Cant do names cos I'm a bit sozzled
Not the best news , but what do doctors know A few years ago i was suffering with the knees myself So i took myself off to a gym and started with the cross trainer and rowing machine After many months of this my knees were loads better No more aches and pains ,I'm convinced that the exercise tightened up all my ligaments up After a year or so I was able to get on the treadmill and run for 4 or 5 miles at a good pace with no knee problems So what im saying is it really is up to you to put some effort in to get those knees better Oh and i'm 47 years old , iv had both cartilages operated on , and was told by the doctors to think about changing jobs Good luck John
Thats great to hear, and good for you. I`m happy to put as much work in as is needed, to get them sorted. Tbh, im already bored of being at home !
Sorry to hear of you troubles nelly. Hope your down times not to long, meanwhile enjoy the delights of daytime t.v.
Chase Charlie round for a bit. Have you tried the itools stand up trowels. At least you could do something without getting down on your knees
Lol, I have mate yes. We used there mixers, and trowel up in Glasgow a while ago. Charlie has been really good, and taken on a lot this past week or so. I treated him to a Makita Dab radio today, so he can pump some tunes out doing the work for both of us !
