I've researched and bought what I thought seemed to be a reasonable fit for purpose moisture meter, but reading posts on here I'm now doubting myself. Does anyone use the protimeter Aquant., and if so is it actually fit for purpose? I'm beginning to think I should of spent a bit more than the £276 it cost.?? But as I have it now, can I make any reasonable use of it? Thanks
Yes it's still good for telling if your latex is dry and to point out to a customer if the floor has damp! Most customers don't get the 75% rh reading but a flashing red light is easy to read. You can't rely on them as they only scan the top of the subfloor, you need hygrometer readings to be certain
Thanks for the reply., glad it's not totally wasted.. So I should be able to determine the level of dampness, but not the RH..?
ive got the aquant it's good to see if there's damp in the floor by t use it along side the hygromaster
sort of.. It'll tell you if its damp or dry But wont tell you how damp or how dry That's where the hygrometer comes in Be warned tho Loads of lads seem to trust the scan mode only without doing due diligence and testing rh% Ive had plenty of readings of 200-250 etc and follow by testing and get over 75% so its not fool proof But will give you a fairly good idea of what your dealing with to start off But as long as you know the reading your taking is just a guestimate and not an accurate test of how much moisture is in/being released in the slab
