Hi all I put a sticky plank system down years ago on top of an existing vinyl tiles , I removed it today to replace , The problem I have is there is a load of sticky glue left on the existing vinyl, Help how can I remove it please , It was like a comedy sketch with both feet getting stuck to the floor
I know how you feel. I tried fitting a felt back carpet in a room covered in that glue and I was in tears....it was the funniest think watching my mate trying to walk around in it whilst pulling out a carpet and I couldn't get my feet off the floor at one point
Ha Ha I can barely walk on it its that sticky, I want to remove the glue first and check its all perfectly clean and clear so I can stick something else down
my feet were nearly coming out of my shoes I kid you not , Doesnt help when I had a blowtorch in my hand also
No sorry, dont think I would be using petrol inside though. I have seen bad things happen, in similar circumstances, as above. Best uplift the lot, and start again.
my shoes were sticking to the concrete in the hall , noticed when I got home picked up a fag butt and some other rubbish also
to lose the tackiness whilst uplifting it or if you really want to leave it down, sweep dust onto it, cheap bag of cement/tile addy etc and a dust mask, sweep it on all over then sweep up what hasn't stuck then hoover, no more tacki floor. On a side note anyone know what they put in that addy they use on them self adhesive tiles as it is ridiculously strong!
