This week I have been mainly fitting Amtico tiles and plank in a couple of narrow boats for a local boat builder. The jobs were very tight and fiddly and it is a while since I fitted Amtico but the product seemed to need a lot more scoring before bending than previously. Perhaps this was due to the temperature but I had to be careful not to crack the tiles. This made me wonder about a couple of points. These barges are going to different parts of the country (Yorkshire and Lancashire) so if there was a problem (hopefully not) would I be liable for going to wherever they were to rectify it? Just interested to know what would other people do? The other point is has anyone turned work down because they were too large (ok fat) to do the job or had to get someone else to do it? Be honest.
I'm from Lancashire and if there was a problem pal I could help out obviously would need a bit for fuel and time. Be cheaper than yourself coming up/down from your area.
I'm not expecting problems just wondered what anyone else would do. Spacey the customer supplied the product including Amtico adhesive.
