Looking for Contract Floorlayers based in London to work within the city centre.

This work would be on a sub-contract basis and will be paid on price only, no day rates.

Must have CSCS card and own tools, pretty standard stuff or so you'd think!!

The work involves screeding and fitting carpet tiles and LVT.

Please PM me if you are interested. I'd be grateful if you would include the m2 rates you would be looking to earn. I've had numerous domestic fitters quote me outrageous amounts. I believe we pay fair rates and good fitters earn good money from us.

Yeah I know it, think most guys from Hull have some sort of work from them. I try and keep away from modular if possible no good IMO had lots of bad experiences with them.

Payments on time or never at all, nothing ever ready, boards absolutely shocking but won't pay for proper prep or replacement, want extras doing FOC, replacement of damaged vinyl which they did FOC. I could go on mate but it all boils down to cost and no one wanting to take it in the chin just pass it from guy to guy.

Reason I responded to this post because the company im working for at the minute have just walked out of a job in London after the clients never paid the contractors. The main guy of the modular place came down locked the door and kicked everyone off site until it had been resolved, 2 months later and the doors still closed. Same company I'm at nearly shut down after 40yrs on the go because another modular firm took on a job too big with the cost creeping up kept quiet then went bankrupt because of payments, wasn't a small job as some of the lads were on that site solid for 10 months.

Might just be me but I think they're more hassle than they're worth haha, give me bricks and mortar any day.

My lads are paid fortnightly, never an issue.

The job is a student accommodation, not a modular building. all floors are concrete, hence the requirement for screed.

It is up to me to get paid for any variations, replacements etc. not my fitters. we work direct for main contractors, large reputable ones at that.

Got a couple of jobs next week if anyone is interested? Bournemouth and London.

mate, when you've been previously been taken for a lot of money by a main contractor, i can assure you that you'll make damn sure you know how to spot a reputable one
