Hello names David. age 25 I have one years Fitting experience. and Im looking to progress my experience further i am an extremely fast learner and take great pride in making my jobs have a quality finish. in my last Job i worked for a guy named Zalmy. he owns Carpet City in Tottenham Hale. im currently doing driving lessons. i am a keen and very hard worker. i have great customer skills. and my experience in the trade goes as follows. Primer Floor's, Latex Floor's, Feather Finish, Ply, Adhesive for Contract Vinyl, Carpet Tiles, Engineered Real Wood, Laminate, Beading,Prep work for Carpets rooms and stairs gripper and underlay, Fitting Stairs and Rooms Carpet, Kitchens in cushion Vinyl, Karndean and amtico, Door bars, Door Cutting, Architrave Cutting, Floorboard Repair, measuring areas, Cutting product to the Specific Measurements.
it started about 4 Months ago. i asked for PPE Boots because he was making me work on site. he said to my face. i do not provide from the waist down. due to fitter trousers are expensive" is the reason i assumed". so i was fairly new and thought . well hes a smallish firm he is well established one but. im not going to push for an answer. i prefer to keep my job. so another fitter who has been doing this for 8 years. asked me to show him where it says he has to provide it. because he is Polish he doesnt really know to much about it. i showed him on the internet this .gov site. saying he must provide PPE but i told him i just left it because of the hassle. he then takes it to his Wife Caroline. and emails it to her and asked them for boots like it said he should provide because we were both PAYE. Zalmy and Caroline took this a bad way as if i had told him to go behind his back. i explained in the meeting he had asked so i showed him. i cannot control someones personal decisions. Zalmy is Jewish and i hold nothing to religion but, he really doesnt treat people fair. he got scared and this is his own words next " David im not letting you go because of your work, there is no issue with your work, off the books im letting you go because i fear in the future we may end in tribunal." so i was sacked on the 24th Sept. i said to him if i had wanted to do anything stupid like that and risk my job i would of done it along time ago. i kept my mouth closed. i did your site work and bought my own cscs card even thought you were ment to provide it " this is me now angry because of him taking my life away or so i thought at the time ". i did all this because becoming an expert flooring layer is all that i care about. and doing a really good quality finish. so this is the reason . he is a jewish fellow who breaks the law but i didn't care i had a wage coming in you know how it is. its all hearsay anyway. would of been my word versus his. there is no point to start shit on your own doorstep. i go to work to work to pay for my house and my dogs and my future.
he Sacked me Right before this 10 Days off jewish Holiday what was meant to be payed. he made me work 3 days longer than he should have just to get his own jobs done before this holiday knowing he could of sacked me. he did it without warning and it really crushed me. all the other fitters on the firm ive told cant believe it they will all tell you i have a great work ethic,im polite and i do as im told to the letter. i was very privileged to work under some really quality guys ,very skilled. they are going to be having words when they are back because the office is closed. they want me to push legal action. but i dont see a Point. its Stress and Hassle and all ive cared about is working. ive managed to get Tuesday to Thursday working for a Firm in stanstead and in 10 Days a Private Stairs and Kitchen im gonna make 120 off that. so im kinda afloat. but i need to find a Job soon . because bills will start to pile up . and i really dont wanna give up on my dream. this job is perfect . ive always wanted to do a trade and work with my hands. and i have really found the right job i want to keep as my career at all costs. sorry this was rather long i appreciate you taking the time to read it . and i apologize for any grammar mistakes.
Take him to a tribunal for wrongful dismissal, you will win! He hasn't followed correct procedure and hasn't a leg to stand on, id guarantee he will settle out of court as his solicitors will advise him to.
