I watched a demo at the flooring exhibition, the lads were demonstrating various smoothing compounds etc... The one thing I did take note of was the tool used to mix the compounds.. They said not to use the spiral type mixer (whisk) as they intrain a lot of air into the mixture.,, and said to use a certain type of "whisk". I'm sure there must be something in what was said.. As a preference, what do you use? (Ardex do one, a very simple looking tool, £30)
Bird cage type or the helicopter style one you get with the itools setup are what I use, depending if using a little bucket or the big bucket
Will need one that's drill compatible.. Think it's a 10mm chuck.. I use the short spiral design at the moment..., however a new one is on my shopping list..
