No DPM (damp proof membrane)by the sounds of it.
Moisture tests should of been carried out prior to any subfloor work, with the correct moisture detection equipment and a relevant DPM applied (by the fitter)..
Sounds like it'll need taking up and installing correctly..
May be something different..., someone else will reply at some point to offer further advice..

There will definitely be no mechanical
    DPM under the concrete slab
Only solution is to rip it up and redone by a Pro

You'll need to call them back, and ask why the subfloor has failed, and when will they take it up and relay it......
A professional company would of ran a tramex / protimeter over it first, and treated the existing floor accordingly, before installing the Karndean.

When you say professional, were they builders or floorers?

When measuring older houses I always ask when it was built. In 1965 dpc was introduced on new builds but even on some on going building site estates they didn't put them in. Any houses built before 1965 definitely needs testing if concrete floors are present. This by rights if they are a professional company they should of known.

Don't you mean there's little piont in testing as it won't have a mechanical DPM so should have an epoxy DPM applied regardless as a test can give different results at different times of the year ? And what if the house is also at the lower end of the water table like at the bottom of a hill What then Dave ?:eek::p

No moisture test - not a professional company I'm afraid Sarah. I'd dread to deal with any retail/contractor who sells my lvt that doesn't understand what tests need to carried out before taking in a job

Was gonna say are you at bottom of a hill as this wet weather we have been having would increase the hydrostatic pressure no end and would speed up a failure.

I will get things sorted eventually . Thank you all for your comments , the info will help me get a long term resolution .
At the moment I'm battling against " we've laid hundreds of these and never had a problem " !

I'm in Norfolk so not many hills !
Problems started within a few weeks of planks being laid , they've been patched up since then - floors starting to look like a patchwork .

Within a couple of weeks is quite fast for it to be lifting from what I know so must be quite wet under there.

I'd just say to them I've spoken to amtico tech department and they advised me to get the relative humidity readings of the subfloor before they can advise me further, puts the ball in their court that way

I contacted a local (reputable) retail company reference purchasing MVS off them.., they didn't stock or sell any such thing, the General Manager said their LVT installers don't use it., and they've never had a problem...
Well, do it wrong, and it'll come back at some point and bite you on your butt ., sounds like the company that fitted yours have a similar ethos ...

    Substandard practice

Edit; Best you don't say you've contacted Amtico..., as its Karndean :)
(Original poster was an Amtico prob) :)
