Lights in stairs

Has any one put lights in a staircase I have had 5 customers in the last month asking I know how to fit a carpet and know how to fit laminate but I don't have a clue about lights as I have allways been wary about putting electric wires under carpets any advice on doing the lighting would be spot on

 

I'm pretty sure wires go through back of riser and all electrical wires are under the stairs so your not burying live cables under textile, id let a sparks sort it out myself.

 

are we talking similar to downlighters or nosings??

 

in the risers, I'm just going to get a sparky it can be his problem had another customer on this evening wanting the same

 

needs to 12v, but sparky is best

Doesn't look to bad on the risers or on the sides but on treads it doesn't look right.

 

In the middle would drive me up the wall! When you walked down them it blinded you and you then have a blue dot in your vision for 20mins.
