Measured up for a quotation for corridors in a rest home yesterday in competition with another firm who had specified this product. The areas have multiple right angles, and lengths which are longer than roll sizes which will require lots of welded seams both on length and width.

Upon inspection, this product appears to be nothing more than a commercial quality cushion floor, and I am concerned that it will not hot weld well, or even stand up to constant use of trolleys and the like. I am aware of their suggested cold weld technique but am not convinced.

I would normally suggest a true safetyfloor for this type of area, possibly one of the Tarkett designer ranges.
Your comments would be appreciated with interest.

Ive used this itec in nursing home corridors/halls/lounge before and its nice stuff. Its got a commercial wear layer 0.7mm and it has been labelled heavy commercial. I cold welded the lot and still looks great a year on. i like working with it especially because it comes in 4m width aswell

Did you fully adhere it, and did you use altromastic cold weld or itecs own cold weld product?

I've used the itec atom in a nursery for young children, it's great to fit and easy to cold weld, I use the German cold weld in the orange tube with the needle, just overlap and cut through two with a concave and the seams invisible, I wouldn't hot weld but have done it on a similar product when specked with no problems just turned the weld gun down a bit.

And yeah I stuck it down with ps f 46 rolled, don't groove out and use the silicon type altro mastic cold weld, no need

Same as trever, I used the orange tube and like he says its invisible if done properly.
Yes fully adhered and I used 2000s rolled. Lovely to fit, cuts silky smooth and looks quality when fitted.

My fitters have just fitted 19 rolls 2m wide of this into 15 flats for rental, Fully adhered and cold welded using invisweld type a with masking tape. 20 lin mt of joins in each flat minimum. Joins invisible when joined on plank edge the customer really pleased.

We eventually fitted 12 x 2m rolls to the corridors (600m). Looks fantastic, easy to cut and to work with, though very heavy material. Long tonged the corridors while adhering. We chose hot weld method, welding rods supplied by manufacturer. Customer delighted.
