How many of you guys fit Amtico Signature and how often? Have Amtico priced themselves out of this part of the trade, or is the (Signature) product still in high demand in the residential market? Are borders old fashioned and not current? Does anyone fit diagonal planks or tiles anymore?

Just attempting to get your thoughts on current trends. I am a retailer with accounts with Amtico, Karndean,Distinctive, and others.

am in the process of changing my signature stands right now.
They've def priced themselves out of the residential market in my area anyways
And all we do is diagonal with borders, wether it be stone or planks - bread and butter stuff

Not done a lot in the signature range in the last year, too expensive and over rated in my opinion. When I have any enquiries regarding amtico I do prewarn them it is not a cheap range then offer them alternatives to look at. Quite often had them switch to Expona/Karndean. Would love to start pushing distinctive and maybe should look into it really.

I think the call for 'amtico' is on the rise to be fair, however the call for spacia or signature is the question ? I believe the customer wants an amtico floor, usually signature rate puts them off but the spacia saves the order, it's still amtico and that's what the customer wants to brag about.....I think any amtico retailer can live without the signature stand and do completly fine with there spacia stands.
commercially signature range isn't really required anymore, most lvt companies now offer .55 wear or above for much less and to be fair the larger jobs are all straight lay so the need for designs, boarder, motifs etc isn't really requested.

Signature is lovely to fit but quite expensive when you consider the closest alternative would be distinctive due to the virgin pvc manufacturing and that is cheaper yet still top quality, the 1mm wear layer is significant overkill too but the way the tile is made does make it a dream to fit, a .5 is more than good enough in a domestic situation in my mind.

When you say that the closest alternative would be distinctive due to the virgin pvc manufacturing what do you mean? As far as I am led to believe; only signature is virgin pvc. I sell lots of distinctive, but I personally think that it scratches easily.

Up in the north of Gods country, diagonal lays and borders are considered old fashioned now. Do you think that this is the current trend now, Adam?

As far as I was aware some of the distinctive stuff is Virgin pvc (sure seen Adam mention it) so in regards to quality distinctive would be closest to signature.

Not had a problem when using distinctive for scratches I find karndean the worst for that.

Yes it's pure PVC like amtico signature, it's not 1mm wear surface like amtico signature but is made in the exact same way, we both hot press surface layers onto PVC, most of our ranges are registered embossed which amtico don't really offer, oh and we made spacia for about 6 months to help them out ad they were having a lot of production issues. Check out the mflor website and take a look at the amount of commercial locations it's been fitted within. We are not amtico and never will be, but maybe a good option number 2 !!
