    Hi Folks

We will be having laid Brintons Padstow carpet for our stairs and landing. This has been ordered by us independently but with out underlay, with the plan to have our chosen fitter (yet to pick) to supply the underlay.

In the expert opinion of these newly found forums what would be the preferred choice from you? Brintons own (Brinfelt) or some other make

    Thanks

It's down to personal preference in what you want from your underlay, is it longevity? Is it for comfort etc. I've always advised clients that for stairs in particular you should pick something hard-wearing as it tends to be the area with the most amount of traffic. For me it's either a quality cloud 9 PU underlay (no higher than 10mm is usually needed) or a quality crumb rubber. (Dense rubber underlay with great longevity) Britons own choice would be fine also.

Perhaps pop into a local shop and browse some samples to see what you like.

Im more hoping you had a fitter work out how much carpet you needed or it could prove to be an expensive mistake.
