    Hi everyone,
Just turned the heating on for the first time in the new house with newly fitted engineered oak floors (brushed and oiled). One radiator had a leak; we noticed *relatively* quickly, not more than 2 hours, stopped now. Leak is above floor level; from what I see it's 1lt of liquid tops on the planks. It's the dirty sooty sort of water you get inside radiators. I used a damp sponge and dry towel to wipe off the main bit of black ugliness but any advice on how to proceed is more than welcome. The planks are now almost dried up apart from the connections between them and the floor looks *relatively* ok in terms of cleanliness. I'm mainly concerned about the moisture, never had wood floors before (and never will again, not worth the heartache and worry...)

You haven't exactly said what the problem is. You appear to have mopped up and cleaned the mess, so no problem there, and it's drying out OK, so no problem there. ??

Well I guess all the talk about maintaining wood floors has got me really worried! Is t really that simple- it looks ok so it must be ok? Dunno, husband is freaking out that we need to do something "extra" because that wasn't enough even if it looks ok now.

If it's engineered you should be fine.
