Hello experts, I'm in the middle of decorating a beauty/sports clinic, and have got to the minefield of floor coverings. I'm quite happy with the product I've chosen for the toilets and wet room, but have now come unstuck with the reception area and the clinic rooms. I was going to use a sheet homogeneous flooring in the style of wooden planks, but once I was introduced to LTV, the difference in appearance is very noticeable. The truth is however, that the actual amount of floor covering that will be showing is minimal, but I'd still like it to look as good as possible. My dilemma is that an agent has put a spanner in the works by introducing me to a relatively unknown LVT, with apparently a wear layer of 0.55 and an R10/11 rating as well. This product is called Estilo, and the agent sold it very well. I admit to being a person who is influenced by branding and marketing, and normally believe that you get what you pay, thats why till now I've only considered Polyflor and possibly Karndean. I would really appreciate candid help on the products. Obviously I can only go with my gut feeling in regards to the professionalism of the fitters. I look forward to receiving your replies.
Hi there...... As a flooring contractor I start with polyflor LVT..... Expona upwards, it's a commercial location so minimum .55mm wear layer in my experience, you may find the cheaper the product the more plasticy it looks..... There's nothing wrong with what's been recommended but it's down to personal preference and of course budget...... The sheet products will look like sheet and have a decimate pattern repeat..... Planks can be varied to look more like wood. On experience if you don't see much of the floor id go with practicality and cost effectiveness, but it's your choice...... I'm Afraid I tend to find the more the product costs the better it looks. Karndean and amtico cost more and tend to look better. Polyflor come a close second due to cost and overall looks. An other option is distinctive flooring good quality and excellent to work with....... All depends on budget hope that helps
Thank you for the swift reply. My problem is that these Estilo planks work out more reasonable than the Expona sheets. They appear to tick so many boxes, acceptable wear layer, bevelled edges, slip resistant, etc, but experience tells me, if it looks too good, it probably is. It goes without saying that there will not be the same customer service, guarantees with this unknown product, but I'm hoping I wouldn't need it. There is no doubt that the brochures, samples, and branding that the big boys use will have a huge cost, which will of course be passed on to the consumer. I'm just wondering if this no frills company, Estilo, can offer very good competitive because their overheads are less. It really is a difficult one.

I would give Adams choice a look..... Distinctive is excellent products at good prices. Good finish and good choice, if you want to go down the estilo route then up to you.
