hello forum, any member installed Shaw's Versa lock? And had trouble with it? I had nothing but trouble with this product so much so that had to replace 400sq.ft. we installed laminate on 7/18/16 from the start the laminate would not lock together well at all it seemed to have little lines around each piece, after installation 7/25/2016 all was fine when we finished. One and half months later, customer had us come out because flooring started to peak on the ends, as if it was installed too tight. They had a Shaw rep inspector come out, his report was that it was installed without an expansion, which I for one know we put 1/4" expansion around perimeter as we installed it. Inspector did NOT remove any base to make his decision. On 11/17/2016 went out removed base where the floor was peaking and there was/is plenty of expansion. To keep good faith with customer we replaced flooring as I tore out flooring in the middle of the dinning/kitchen area found that 18 boards had mold in groove only. Slab was not wet, customer said they didn't spill or get the floor wet at all. Called Shaw they said moisture problem, did moisture check on slab with test meter and no moisture at all in slab. No mold anywhere else only in these 18 boards. When installing new Versa Lock in kitchen/dinning the wood was peaking on ends as we were installing it. Has anyone had any similar problems like this with Shaw's Versa Lock, via mold and/or peaking on ends? Thank you for reading my post.
you say you tested teh moisture in slab and say there was Zero moisture. What was the actual reading ? zero ? Any idea if what moisture the wood had in it before install and after it failed?
