NA and 300 are two completely different types of compounds
If your getting spike roller marks your either rolling it to late or to much

It was only last week I was saying there is something wrong with the pallet of Na we had delivered to a job. It was horrendous, ended up having to hold few handful of powder back just to make it flow better. I love NA and never had an issue with it but there was defo something wrong with that pallet we had.

Have you got a batch number on the bag? Ill compare it to mine ive got left

I've had some bad level it flex recently. Put down 9 bags and the 3 bag mix in the middle was as thick as shit. Gutted.
If the subfloor is porous it will effect the flow.

Yeah did the usual prime once (3:1) but the hallway I had to go in neat. Used the same batch on the 2 coat primed 9mm ply upstairs on a job and same issue. Mixed up first bag (full bottle full bag) and noticed when mixing it it looked alot darker than usual, poured it out and thought shit this is like treacle and its flow was awful so the rest of the mixes I had to hold powder back but still wasnt perfect. Didnt look to bad after it was dry but nowhere near the finish I get with the NA.....soooooo the last 3 bags I had to do in a separate room I switched to a different batch completely that I had put aside for another job off the van and perfect, how it should be. When I asked the question to another fitter I passed in the suppliers he said exactly the same and had to stop using it and switched screeds.

Only ever had this issue once with screedmaster. Really annoying when it looks like a 7yr old has screeded for you o_O lol

Didnt notice anything with the primer in the lounge but thought id go neat in the hallway and didnt make a massive difference. Did the usual process but this NA was defo dodgy

I used NA in a kitchen a couple of weeks ago and the flow was horrendous (and yes I did prime Kev). It was like spreading treacle.

I use n/a all the time...... it's a rapid set screed so if it's a sunny day it went off double quick. Also we found even on small areas key was a clean bucket and tools....... the previous mix is setting as soon as latex is added so if you have a build up in the tub or on the roller it reacts and sets the new mix quicker...... where possible we washed the tub out after every mix and it solved the setting issue and spiky rolled it as soon as it was on the floor

Sounds like ardex pushed out a lot of dodgy batch then. Like I say I'm on a different batch now and it's back to how it should be.

I've had it with 700, 300 and levelit flex, super 30 and NA. I drove to Kensington to put down 2 bags of 700 and they never even looked like flowing out. 2 buckets of slop and a lot of running down the next day. Nice1
I was told it was the whisk but I'm not convinced as I had used the whisk before and it had mixed up perfectly.

I haven't used NA for long a time tbo Theres much better ones out there now that can do the same things.

I once had to send a pallets of K11 back It was going off in the tub tried 5 bags all did the same Haven't usedone it since.
They swapped it for a pallet of NA at no extra cost

I've had NA go funny on me so I use level it bond now (yellow bag) and haven't had any problems yet got good flow but I always prime,
I have to say though the f ball 1200 is the best type of NA screed got a lot better flow than any of the others but it's more expensive.
I get on with the level it and it's cheaper so it works for me.

Love the level it bond, it flows like cream. Im thinking of switching back to 1200 or use more of the level it bind tbh as ive never had a problem with it and like merit says the flow was that bad I spent an hr with the str (even though it really wasnt doing much) and another half hr using the rapid. Going to use up what NA ive got then give them a breathing space whilst they get their ratio back to normal be ause my suppliers still have a shit load in stock of the same batch! Embarrassing when I had few site workers spectating through the window seeing how much a45 I was putting down for. 20m2 lounge o_O

Interested to see how many of you prime NA I thought the whole point of it was the fact you rarely need to prime. If you're priming then why not use a cheaper latex such as CL?

I use NA or CL at the moment, if it's a new or clean screed then I prime and CL, if there are adhesive residues or on ceramic tiles then I use NA with no primer.
The rep explained to me once that NA has a stronger bond than the primer itself so it's a bit pointless using it.
