Hi all, I've been pondering over weather or not to get a Flexisand for a while now. I had just about made my mind up to order 1 when a company I was getting a price from mentioned the Bora 4 head machine, pretty much a similar concept of machine only difference is its £400 cheaper 20kgs heavier also comes with 2 extra weights 14 kg each and a much more powerful motor. My worry is with the Bora is that I've never heard of it before so not sure what the build quality is like, how well it will stand up to wear and tear etc. Has anyone on here used either of these machine or even better both? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers

I've been running the Bora for three months and have had no problems it has metal cogs which was the selling point for me.What will you be using it for wood or prep?

I'll be using it for wood mainly to speed up sanding process and better finish for parquet floors. What are you using it for?

Great finish on parquet ,dust shroud is a bit quirky.Multidisks don't speed up the process but my finish is definitely better.
Your supplier is now selling PCD and diamond segs for floor prep I've not tried mine yet but with the extra weight and power it could be a good addition depending on the type of work you do.
    Where are you based?

I've always used belt sander up to 100 or 80 depending on species or 120 with parquet then finish with 100 screen on the buffer. My thoughts are I'll be able to replace belt sander from 60 onwards with multidisc obviously getting closer to wall aswell so I'm presuming less edging. From your experience with the machine what's your process?

I'm based in the North East mainly Newcastle area but nationwide for commercial and larger jobs. What about you where are you based?

    I'm in North London.
For Parquet I stop at 100 on the belt then 100 on the multi, vac and coat.
For strip/ boards 80 on belt then 100 on multi.
These are not set in stone I vary process as required. Will this be your first multidisk if so its a great addition .

Yes I've contemplated it for a couple of years also thought about getting a 3 head driven attachment for my buffer but not sure it'll be anywhere near as good as a machine that's specifically designed for that use. Have you used any other multidisc including the Flexisand? Thanks very much for all your info

My first was a Premiere SVR 380 which is no longer made great machine not as heavy as the Bora or as aggressive but still a great finish machine.Used it for prep, oiling, screening as a single disc and sanding as a multi.
I haven't used the Flexi but I'm pretty sure the cogs are a plastic .Gazhugs has trialled them and wrote a review and he spoke highly of them.
Good luck either way I'm sure there's not much in it.

How are you finding the bora in comparison to the bona.
I ask because i am thinking to change over because the bora is heavier and more powerful.
Would be really good to get sime feedback on it

    Thanx mate.
There is nothing on the net about them so its hard to decide i just don't find the bona aggressive enough and dont get near enough to the edges so i want something with a bit more guts to it

I bought the Bora in the end. Really impressed with it, like Tony said the dust extraction could be better. I've since used the flexisand and would say the bora feels much more powerful. Having said all of that I'm looking to sell my Bora in the next couple of months to make way for the Pallmann Spider. Reason being is the spider can be used to sand floors from start to finish all be it slower. I'm thinking it may be handy for smaller jobs rather than getting belt sander and bora out of the van.
