Hello all, my first post here.

Above I've posted a picture of my newly refurbished parquet floor. It was found when taking up the old carpets.

I've recently had it refurbished by a professional. It looks good, however there are some parts that are slightly lumpy. You can see this in the reflected light, especially by the stair.

Comments and feedback much appreciated. Thank you.

Sanding marks. Those blocks are very soft and edgers can cause those marks if they are not set up well or if they haven't been blended out with a palm sander or finishing machine.

Thanks. Is it possible to sand the marks out, or would the blocks have to be replaced? The floor was discovered under old carpet, and then very badly sanded with an edger only in a botched DIY job.

What you're seeing in the picture is the result of a professional tradesman. I'm wondering if it could have been done better, and if there's anything I can do to improve it.

It's difficult to comment as we have not seen the floor before your guy sanded it. The marks you see now are what can often happen when a drum sander, as opposed to a belt sander, is used. It could well be that he did the best with what he was working with as the only way to get rid of any chatter marks is to sand to the lowest point.
