    Hi,

I removed the lino tiles from my bathroom and in a few places the layer underneath them came up as well. I think this is a layer of self levelling concrete, it's 1-2mm thick and feels a bit sandy. Around the holes the slc layer it seems to be well stuck to the layer of concrete underneath - I can't flake it up and would need something like a chisel to remove it. I've attached some photos of the floor.

I want to lay cork tiles over this, so my questions are:
    1) can I fill the gaps in the slc with a concrete filler and then sand down? Do I have to take up and then redo the whole layer of slc?
    2) do I have to remove all the old lino glue from the floor? It's pretty flat in most places. Can I just remove the loose bits and then glue the cork over the top?
    3) If I just remove the glue should I then seal the floor with a diluted PVC glue layer?

I want to do it well, I've looked around for info and everyone says that you need a good subfloor so I don't want to do this bit cheaply and then have the floor break in 2-3 years time. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.
