    Hi All

I'm in the process of tarting up an aged Aunts house to sell to fund her care :-( I've pretty much finished the bathroom and only have the floor to do before I can finish everything (wall tiles to floor and bath) and so need some advice.

I've close laid, staggered, 6mm ply all screwed at 150mm centres across (50mm perimeter) have created dams for all the none wall edges, so I'm apparently ready to lay SLC but am having the jitters! as although my spiked roller has arrived and I've made a 3mm pin leveller (of sorts) I realise I'll only get one shot at this to get it right and smooth enough for LVT.
Looking at Karndean specs it says joints to be filled with skim coat or apply SLC but as I've got tight butted joints should I 'put a gap back in' with a Fein Multimaster or is butted as is OK? I'm priming the ply just in case, as it's been down a few days, and had some foot traffic, and crap from other works!,
I reckon the SLC (Setcrete HP) will be bob on 3-3.5mm (on predicted 4.5mm coverage) but I could probably just about double it with another bag if that would be better?

Wish we'd had time funds to get a pro in but sadly we can't afford that luxury money or indeed time wise, so I'm hoping you might help with some advice please?

    Cheers
    Neil

Joints butted up tight is good
If the floor is now flat and smooth only a skim coat of feather finish is required
No need to use a screed unless it really needs the extra smoothing

That's good news, I want to attempt to level the floor as it slopes a good bit but realise I might not manage more than a slight increase in floor level - here's hoping I get it smooth...
    Thanks again

Screeding will sort out a slope just make sure it cant run away through any gaps or out the door
