Depends on the house but engineered wood is much easier to sell and install in general. I love solid wood flooring but customers have to understand it. Some do some don’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
But what do you say to them Dan if asked which is best. Some people think solid will last a lot longer.
If they want it to last as long as solid a 21mm engineered will do that. Both have a similar thickness of wood above the tongue and groove. From the tongue and groove down is wasted on solid. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So if you want your floor to look perfect, go together mm perfect and stay like that for ever go with engineered. If you want a floor with some character that will age like a real solid floor and will be slightly imperfect and in the right house these floors do look great, go with solid. With an engineered board you can use a wider plank, it's more stable. We give customers the option of floating or stick down on an engineered floor. Lots of companies have stopped selling solid oak.
