First of all hello - I'm new here and have come because I am overwhelmed at the choices available to me when it comes to carpet (I could probably mosaic my floor with all the samples I have) I have read around on the forum and I can see that most people here are professionals - thank you for taking the time to answer the questions of consumers like me. I've got a flat with three bedrooms to carpet, which I'm going to have done professionally one-by-one (£!), starting with the spare room. I've got a favourite sample out of all of the ones I've looked at - "Brockway Dimensions 60 - Egg White". Is this well regarded in the trade? I'm leaning towards "Tredaire Colours Red" for underlay too, again I've got no idea whether this combination works well. TY - J
Brockway dimensions is a very good carpet. I prefer cloud 9 underlay Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I 2nd that dimensions is great quality for the price although I wouldn't recommend 60 Oz. The piles too high and more prone to flattening stick to 40/50 and get a comfy underlay. Which red is. Although we use cloud 9 charleston, I have a 40oz carpet and Charleston on concrete still feels soft to walk on.
It was an answer to a post by someone saying pointing to a website. It was something to do with a carpet supplier but based in houston. No idea where it is though, just checked
I think this combination will work well as many of us have done this with the clients we have. Don't worry just use this combination.
Only advice I'd offer is if you have kids/pets get a good polyprop, no kids/pets get wool and the finest underlay you can afford, really soft underlay is srap and will cut the life/performance of any carpet you get
