If you do that technique You first have to make the crack wider with a screed joint cutter so the DPM sand mix can run fully down the cracks

Thanks for shedding some light on this, very helpful. Out of interest what would happen if you didn't fill the cracks?

The cracks will repeat through any screed and the final floor covering

Nope, with a PU and sand it will run down very fine cracks, you work it in with trowel. If you plan on making cracks wider you need to use a product designed for wider cracks. You cant use PU dpm and sand on wider cracks.

Thats what the sand does, it blocks the gap up, but the moisture allows it to cure internally out, not the other way around and end up with a soft core. Dont worry, i know what im doing.

Yep, good products. Im just giving you a heads up easier and much cheaper way of fixing flow screed. What i mentioned will be launched as a system soon. Liek most things, they are around a long time before they get launched. Bit like that 49 you posted about. Its was developed 20 years ago lol.
