Hiya, I’m now moving into a new home with the family, it’s needs carpet / flooring laid throughout. I’m a total novice when it comes to DIY & buying, getting best prices for flooring is not my forte. Is there any goto carpet websites that people swear by? Any hints tips of what I should, shouldn’t do? I’m literaly like a fish out of water when it comes to this. I’ve measured all rooms & decided where I want carpet & where I want tiled or vinyl of some kind maybe but that’s pretty much where I’m at. I’ve had a look in carpet right but have been told I can get far cheaper online. Cheers
If I was you I’d try a independent retailer, tend to get better service from them get them out for a quote on the area you would like carpet/flooring. Sometime’s struggle if you buy the materials yourself off the internet to get someone to fit them. Hope this helps.
Yeah swerve carpet right unless you wanna pay £12 per m2 for underlay I wouldn’t put in a hamster cage. Look for a firm with a good reputation. Maybe on a local forum or Nicf member. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As has been mentioned, please go into a local reputable retailer with your rough sizes in hand and get a feel for what they have to offer, large “sheds” such as Carpetright are usually more expensive for lesser materials, shopping online you have zero clue about what you are purchasing and finding a quality installer to fit them for you is difficult and more expensive than getting everything from one place. Thanks for all the advice so far, I’ve seen people using the names of carpets from carpetright ect & getting the actual names for the carpets. Ordering them online at pretty much half the price of CR and paying to have it fitted. Would it for sure be easier / not much difference in price to go local? I’m not sure we really have a great choice in the Great Yarmouth & surrounding areas for local carpet stores. Thanks again
Hi mate. We’re in Lowestoft and can guarantee a massive drop in price from any shops. Do you still need help or are you sorted?
