    Hello,
I've recently moved into a cottage and want to lay my own carpet(no carpet fitters in the area!, I'm very rural in Wales).
I used to lay carpets 30 years ago but can't really remember much about it.
My problem is I have a glass floor panel in the middle of the room and don't know whether I attach the carpet to the grippers around the glass panel first and then kick to the wall or kick to the wall first and then do the glass panel after.
Any advice from a carpet fitter would be welcome!
    Thanks Gaz

Fit around the obstacle then stretch away from it

How big is this glasd panel section?

Depending on size I'd fit the whole room first and then cut out the glass panel section and gripper in.
It would work both ways and have done it both ways myself. I find I get a better tighter fit by doing the access/glass panel after I've stretched out the whole room but again depends on how big the panel is.
