Anyone out there using this site to generate work? I signed up after a call from them and have had both jobs that I bedded for. There seems to be lots of work for fitting if you're in for it. I'm still not sure that its right for me, I am by no means struggling for work but its always nice when that £50 cash job hits your in box and are able to do it on the way home, if you know what I mean. I tested the water today, as a prospective customer to see what happens. I won't go into too much detail but got a price which was OTT for fitting and another guy who's 70 miles away charging nowhere near what a fitter should be. Basically, I quoted £130 for several rooms, another bloke 40 miles away charged £150 and a guy 75 miles away charged £90. His feedback was shite, so wondering if he's actually a proper fitter or uncle Tommy from around the corner. Do I really need to be associated with this site is what I am telling myself. I have no way of deactivating my account and the only way off of there is to flaunt their rules in such a way it'll get one banned. Views please.
I used it for a few months. Did a couple of local carpets. Problem I found was they were always crappy jobs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It a fan of it really. Done a few jobs from it and also got jobs off it when they have found me on that then googled my number and rang. What I don’t like is sometimes you get approved but don’t even get chance to prove the job as they have accepted the 1st cheap quote.
We’ve had a few decent jobs off it but holy hell there’s a load of cowboys on there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've used it got a couple of jobs from it nothing massive, I've stopped with it now, you'll find out that you end up paying to give someone a quote. If the person putting the job up accepts you to quote, you get charged but it's not only you the other fitters are getting the lead also so they get charged, so if a customer wants ten quotes from the comfort of her armchair see accepts everyone to quote and gets an idea of the price. The customer may pay a fiver which is nothing really, but you can easily spend over £100 and all you've done is quote
That’s been my experience with it, the customers should have to fill out a form with some proper information on the job when they post it and be made aware that everyone shortlisted will be charged. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Have been on there for a year or so now and have had about 20 jobs directly from it and another 10 or so where theyve googled me. Alot of bodgers on there fitting for £2.50sqm, i refuse to compete with them when im on £4sqm doing site work
I threw it in after the 3rd job. I was charged around £8 and didn't get the job after being shortlisted. I took this issue up with MB but they said that was basically, how the cookie crumbles. Too many of the leads are too vague, not enough info and sooo many customers trying to pull the wool over your eyes. Like I've only been in the game for 26 minutes, not years. over and out.
London/kent. 3 companies i know of paying 3.50 or 4sqm. Clearing 100sqm town house a day easily with an apprentice
Designer contract in Chesterfield pay pretty good rates. 10 years ago My son and I were doing town houses and pull about £400
Place i sub to atm pay £4sqm and extra 25 per staircase. I get alot of tower blocks to myself up london too.
Designer in Chesterfield pay £3m2, you will find a lot of the houses have been scaled down in size still as tricky but less m2, I don't fit carpets only for private customers who I supply, the carpet game is rush rush rush and shite money
I haven't touched anywhere now for 6 years. I'm really happy supplying and fitting to my own customers. I suppose thats what happens after 25+ years of fitting. The thought of contracting for idiots would make me have to jack it all in.
