Felt back carpet

    had a job last night - felt back.
    Do you think it should be on gripper underlay?

    I had to do a Join . Shop told me to use spray for it. It still looked perfect but surely this isn’t the right way. And wouldn’t last? It was actually at one end of a landing that wouldn’t get any traffic ( Wasted space realy)

    Just looking for everyone’s opinion.
    Any any other tips/tricks you may use for fitting feltback on gripper underlay

    Just heat seam it on low setting. That join will be going up the hoover in a few weeks time when the spray drys up lol

    That’s what I thought . Actually never knew If it would stick to the feltback.
    Do you spray grippers?

    I tend to spray gripper if fitting felt back but definitely agree with heat seam on low setting. Spray will fail before long

    I spray the gripper .I also have a felt back seaming iron .it has a contraption on the back which pulls a little bit of the glue up to join the cloth as well .
