Hot welding

What do you consider to be the best tool for finishing following a hot weld on safetyfloor?

As above the Mozart is the one to have. Be warned, safety eats the blades alive

 

Bought one and tried it today. Was initially put off by price, but on reflection, what an awesome tool. Thanks.

 

There was a cheap chinky version doing the rounds on eBay for a while

 

Used it again today. I actually prefer the cut finish that both blades together produce. Also there is no contact with the safety floor with the cutting blade this way.

 

I've got one blade and two spacers on mine so how many are you using?
On safety I get better results just using the blade, on smooth vinyl I use both spacers for first run then finish with just the blade

So your finished trimmed of weld is left proud?

You have the 2 parts
1 is the blade
Bottom one is the sledge
First run over it with sledge & blade together
Final run, move the sledge to one side and run bare blade over it.

I'll take that on board. What will happen to it?

 

The raised edge will be a dirt trap.
Would be a fail in a hospital or similar

 

I'm all for learning. Will double trim from now on. I appreciate honesty and advice from those more skilled.

 

I never bother with the spacer on safety. Just lino work

 

Went back and trimmed it today.
