Hi All Although the name suggests distinctive Adam, I am now something completely different and have been since May 8th 2018, I now offer Softlay underlays which are fairly remarkable if I’m honest, here’s a quick run down of what they do. Any further questions, let me know. Softlay 21 2.1mm thick Superb underlay suitable for use straight over chipboard, raised access flooring, old pvc floorcoverings etc, made up of mostly glass fibres and polymer, it has an 75%RH, a recovery rate of 97%, incredible roll loading qualities and a 19db rating. A self adhesive underlay which fits facedown directly on to sub floor, then adhesive is used on top allowing for floorcovering to be installed far quickly and more Effectively than ever, increasing install times and decreasing preparation times. Softlay 21+ 2.1mm thick The exact same as above but it’s beefed up big brother allowing for more imperfections underneath etc Softlay fleece 2.1mm thick Very similar to 21 etc however this option is adhered on both sides, eliminating any chance of movement, goes upto 92%RH and has a 19db rating, a remarkable and versatile underlay allowing for various floor coverings to be installed, for example depending on adhesive type you can install lvt, safety flooring, engineered wood or ceramics etc, use no adhesive on top side and install laminate or looselay click timber floors. Softlay LVT Pro 1.8mm thick A high grab looselaid and highly effective LVT underlay, with a 15db rating and able to handle high volumes of RH allowing for a faster install over most substrates, Marley tiles, old pvc floorcoverings etc - allowing for a direct stick lvt to be installed without the use of adhesive. Softlay Foil 2.1mm thick A superb isolator underlay that can handle upto 95%RH, go over contaminated floors, can be used almost an a expoy dpm, foil goes face down, then adhesive then pvc floorcovering be it sheet or tile, 17db ratings and speeds up installs where moisture and timeframes are a concern. Softlay DBF 2.1mm A looselaid underlay designed for lvt click, click timber floors and looselay lvt’s, has a 95% RH barrier and non slip technology on the surface, strong 19db ratings and proving very popular within the commercial market. We also offer HT and PS adhesives which are decent, there’s much more coming....keep watching. Any questions feel free.
Is the adhesive on the underside a permanent bond or can they be removed without damaging existing flooring underneath ?
Do the joins need to be filled with anything for example feather finish? Would they not show through lvt
Sounds like a good product may need to look into it, so for example if I was to go into a new build and it had floating wood floor I could use this rather than ply lining then fit the dryback lvt straight on top?
Yes mate, Softlay Foil can be used on concrete bases up to 95% Rh without having to surface dpm too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds good mate cheers, @Distinctive Adam could you possibly pm with a price for each underlay mate? Thanks.
