    Hey floor gods!

What’s everyone’s action before screeding prior to lvt when there is cracks in a slab like this?

The slab is about 4 years old and had carpet on it before, the kitchen in next room has ceramics and no movement seems to have occurred. My conclusion is this dried out in extreme temperatures maybe very cold? So won’t be privy to any more movement

    Bad that
I'd use Uzin RR201 over the full slab

Shonox do a crack repair. Or fill it with Wakol or flexi fix.

I used Altro Resolve to fill some pretty major cracks on a job last year. Have been back a couple of times since and no sign of any movement.

Is that the mesh, like a wide scrim tape ? Is it just stuck down direct to the slab ?

It's a fibre glass mesh you lay loose over the primed sub floor and screed directly over it When you spike roller the screed the mesh becomes imbeded in the screed and reinforces it so the screed isn't relying on the strength of the sub floor so isn't affected by cracks and weaknesses in the sub floor

Couldn’t you just use a gypsum based levelling compound instead then?

You'd still have to do some kind of crack repair or crack bridge system or the crack can transfer though the screed and the product

    Chase it out
    Prime
    Uzin 182 repair compound
The the scrim tape (I forget the code)
Then compound over the tape so it don’t rise when screeding then away u go
    Prime then screed
    Easy
