Hi chaps Joined forum as recently purchased a new build.... as a lot of you say on here it seems they don't have a cap on the mastic applicant round here!!! Our mastic work was diabolical and we have since had it "removed" and parts of our amtico replaced in kitchen and bathrooms. However there is still traces of the old mastic (haven't had it resealed yet) around the skirting, on the amtico and on bottom bathroom tiles in wet areas making it look really untidy. Any suggestions on how to tidy this up without damaging the flooring? Second to that, anyone in the cambridge area fancy a job in coming out and sorting our edging and cuts as have just lost all faith in the developer. Really appreciate the help David
Hi David , I use the 18mm snap blades , keep the blade close to the skirting and cut down then carefully cut along the flooring .Remove as much as you can with the knife then use a silicone remover ( test before use ) let it work for a few minutes then rub off with a cloth . Wipe off with a wet cloth. It should come off ok on the Amtico but is difficult to remove from loose lay vinyl . Probably best to flash a coat of paint over the skirting to freshen them up . Thanks
