Is there an effective power stretcher on the market that doesn't have to be butted off the opposite skirting board? A mini two headed one perhaps like I've seen on American YouTube? I have one of the old type if anyone wants to buy it. If so where can I find one and are they any good? Any links would be appreciated.
Not really, general concensus on the US flooring forums is that all those kneeless tools or ones using the gundlach spike either damage the carpet badly, or dont stretch at all. Closest thing you'll get to a power stretcher without butting off the wall is a crain/roberts mini stretcher, ive used it on restretches where furnitures in the room and it does work really well, but its far slower than a power stretcher as you have to stretch it lock it and then kick infront of it to get it on the spikes.
