It's fine to be installed on stairs. Just make the customer aware of the specific way it needs to be fitted and the fact it is a natural product so imperfect characteristics are all part of the look.

Once did seagrass when i was an apprentice on a hsl and 2 rooms for a shop run by a moron who had no clue about carpet and only charged them normal fitting rate,and we had to f3 it. Still having nightmares
