the amount of Ford transits that have been stolen within a 15 mile radius of myself in last 3-4 months is crazy . I really hope the thieves get what’s coming to them . Iv had vans broken into in the past / garage broken into / shed / and Half my tools stolen but never van and full load of tools . Is this just a transit thing just now ?
Scumbags! Its been happening alot around my way the past few months aswell and its been all types of vans but just stealing the tools though. There was a spell around 18 months ago where customs were being targeted due to their 'amazon' special key thinggy...
I don’t think they are after the contents . They seem to be targeting mk5-6 transits , one guys tools were found dumped at side of the road but were ruined with the rain . wondering if parts are getting harder to find or something . Surely not
Transit Customs, have a shocking weakness with there locks. In my opinion, none of the vans have good enough security, but the Customs are really bad. Round my way, its the tools there after, not the van. I heard a local guy had deadlocks all round that they could nt get through, so they cut a hole in the roof. There was a petition recently, to try and form tougher sentances for those f*uckers who do get caught. There is an immobilizer system, called Ghostwatch, which is supposed to be very good. A guy had his van stolen, which had a tracker, and the police were to busy to follow it !!!!!
They cut the spare wheel off my nephews Ford Ranger, while it was parked on my drive, the other week. Then they found out it would nt fit in there Ford Fiesta. They started strapping it to the roof, but a local farmer saw them, and chased them up the road. They battered his pick up with a bar, but the wheel fell off when they hit the first bend. I will be getting CCTV, for what its worth
replaced my up and over garage door with a galvanized steel electric roller door, cut in a steel high security side door, hard wired a POE cctv system with the cables burried in the ground and in steel conduit and also wired in a honeywell alarm system with a 127db masterblaster in my garage about a year ago. I got a bit fed up after the third break in... Still didn't stop them trying my new transit custom within a week of owning it. Changed the lock on it but need a decent alarm installed really. For cctv i recommend going for POE and getting the best quality cameras with the highest mega pixel so you can get number plates and be careful of how close you mount the cameras to what it's looking at so the night vision led's aren't too bright and cause a whiteout, although i wonder if there's a way of dimming the led's instead...
Well it’s that time of year once again guys , a van was stolen last night in my area and found 10 miles away today completely emptied of all tools
Yep every job I go on at the moment the customer warns me they have had people casing the area or already had vans broken into Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I often leave my doors wide open on a job The Joy's of working in gods God's country Lost thousands worth of tools working in London with van fully locked Hate the b^!$!#+s who do this to us propa c!@#$
A guy who works with me got done last week. Screwdriver through the door, same as they did to mine. Security locks saved his kit, but made a mess of the door. Anyone without deadlocks should seriously think about getting them fitted. Its not just London. Ive worked in most cities across the country, and its a problem everywhere
Had mine done once, then got locks all over. Trick is to make it harder than others around you to break into.
