Fitting is my strong point, selling not so much. Im always asked the question on what i carpet i'd recommend for certain price ranges and im never 100% confident in what i suggest as i dont always get to see the longevity of products. On top of customers often wanting carpet that doesnt wear, has a thick pile but is also cheap i worry that no matter what i suggest sometimes they wont be happy with how the carpet wears (as we see often on here the public buy thicker saxonys that arent very dense and flatten quickly).I have little faith in alot of the cormar stuff i fit, of what i fit from abingdons i do like but i have limited experience in their products

Can anybody recommend some good carpets that i can offer to my customers with confidence ?

    thanks

Invictus magnificus is a popular one with my customers aswell as highland Saxony and sophistication but all look crap after 6 months in my opinion.

GW have a range called Element twist which is mega cheap for what you get if the customer is on a tight budget.

...but as I say, I'm getting asked a lot for magnificus.

been asked for magnificus a couple of times, know some friends up north who have it and they say its flattened but still soft. i think customers expect the carpets to look the same as day 1 for a few years and arent happy when theyre flat after 6 months like you said. i prefer heavy twists personally as they look good far longer

You're right to steer clear of Cormar it's garbage.I like the look of what Abingdon have done to stain free tweed changing the back hopefully they'll do the same to all there ranges.

Abingdon is hard wearing good stuff. Cormar backing is shocking. We are having lots of issues with premature wearing and delaminating. Still, when it doesn’t delaminate we have a lot of customers that are really happy with how cormar wears. Brockway and victoria are good. Obviously anything woven will wear amazing but it’s not cheap

The backing on cormar the last 6 months has been absoloutely awful, caked in latex, delaminating and we're getting some rolls that you can stretch 2 inches on a 4x4 room each way, and other rolls that literally will not move, even with a power stretcher.
